Day 1

Private Camp Borana

Commence your journey to Borana, either by a private charter flight or a scenic 3.5-hour drive from Nairobi. Borana, a former cattle ranch transformed into a conservation haven, graces the pristine countryside on the Northern slopes of Mount Kenya. Enjoy stunning vistas of the snow-capped peaks in the south and the rugged mountains of the Mathews Range, Bodich, and even Marsabit on the route to the Ethiopian border. Home to the iconic big five and a plethora of rare species like Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, and Reticulated Giraffe, Borana sets the stage for an extraordinary adventure. Delight in a lunch within the camp, nestled amid a grove of euphorbia trees.

Day 2

Private Camp Borana

Embark on a full day of exploration at Borana, both on horseback and by vehicle, with a scenic picnic lunch along the Ngare Ndare River. Positioned atop an escarpment, Borana offers spectacular scenery and a diverse array of wildlife. Meet your hosts, Nicky and Michael Dyer, the owners and custodians of Borana Lodge.

Day 3&4

Private Camp Loldaiga Hills – North

Initiate the first moving day, traversing from Borana to Ole Naishu ranch and ascending the first ridge of the breathtaking Loldaiga Hills. This 55,000-acre ranch, owned by Robert Wells, is a masterpiece of nature, featuring large rocky Kopjes interspersed with Cedar forests. Settle into camp in a picturesque valley surrounded by cedar forest, marking the beginning of a two-night stay.

Day 5&6

Private Camp Loldaiga Hills – South

On the morning of the fifth day, the journey continues south. Another cozy camp awaits you there, where you will spend the next two nights—giving you the chance to discover yet another beautiful corner of the reserve.

Day 7

Private Camp El Karama Ranch

Embark on a journey leaving Loldaiga Hills, crossing four ranches on the way to El Karama, the Grant Family’s home. Traverse diverse landscapes, including a hidden valley with elephant and buffalo tracks, and savor a picnic lunch on the banks of the Nanyuki River. Enter El Karama ranch, a 13,000-acre pristine game country, and find your camp on the Ewaso Ngiro River.

Day 8

Private Camp El Karama Ranch

Dedicate a full day to exploring El Karama ranch by horse and vehicle, with the possibility of a game walk along the river before lunch. Encounter an array of wildlife, which can include Grevy’s Zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest, elephant, giraffe, and hippo in the river.

Day 9

Departure

Conclude your adventure with a final ride before breakfast at Sosian, followed by a transfer back to Nairobi in time for your international return flights. Cherish the memories of an unforgettable journey through the diverse landscapes and wildlife-rich regions of Kenya.

Begin each morning of your safari adventure with a hearty English breakfast. Lunches are frequently enjoyed as delightful bush picnics, allowing you to dine alfresco, weather permitting. For dinner, savor exquisite three-course meals. The culinary experience is elevated with the daily baking of fresh bread over open fires, showcasing the exceptional skills of our chefs.

Indulge in a variety of beverages, including house wines, beers, and spirits, all of which are included in your safari experience. While Champagne incurs an additional charge, rest assured that ice is readily available throughout the duration of your safari.

Your luggage seamlessly accompanies the team, ensuring a hassle-free transition from camp to camp.

Enjoy the comfort of spacious mobile tents, measuring 9ft x 10ft. Equipped with camp beds, mattresses, crisp sheets, and cozy blankets, each tent also features a convenient long-drop toilet and invigorating hot safari bucket showers available at all times. The sleeper tents encircle the generously sized mess tent, where you’ll relish delectable meals in a delightful setting.

For your convenience, towels, soap, and torches are thoughtfully provided. Inside each tent, a solar lamp illuminates the space, complemented by the warm glow of hurricane lamps outside during the night.
