This is what our customers say:
“I was on the ‘Sable d’Or’ riding safari in Morocco/Agadir over New Year’s Eve. My first group/riding trip. That was the best decision! The holiday started with the first contact with horse safari. Always cheerful, friendly and helpful with my questions (packing list, insurance coverage, taxi if I arrived late on site, etc.). The riding safari was a uniquely beautiful experience and I am so grateful that I was able to be part of it. Incredibly good Local food typical of the country, great, gentle and bright horses (small Berbers), a new landscape every day, beautiful Moroccan accommodation and the team/Renate gave everything for our well-being and the well-being of the horses. This won’t be the last trip :-)”

Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary – subject to change at any time.

Day 1

Arrival

Arrive in Agadir and spend the night at a hotel in the city. A briefing on the ride takes place over a sociable dinner.
A group transfer is included for arrivals before 4:00 PM. If arriving at a different time, a taxi can be arranged upon request (for an additional fee).

Day 2

In the morning, you travel to the horses, which are stabled just outside the city. The morning ride takes you to the Atlantic coast, where lunch will be served. In the afternoon, you ride across the fertile Souss Plain along beautiful sandy tracks that offer stretches perfect for galloping. Wild argan trees grow amidst the vegetable plantations, and sheep graze on the sparse grass between them. Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse in Massa.

Day 4

You leave the fertile plain behind and ride across barren, rocky hills. The terrain becomes increasingly sandy, and the Anti-Atlas mountain range comes into view in the distance. A picnic break is held here. The horses remain at this location while the riders travel to a hotel in Tiznit. Founded in 1882, Tiznit served as a fortress against warlike Berber tribes.
In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to explore the small town. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5

In the morning, you return to the horses. The ride begins across gentle hills with sandy soil. Small bushes often grow here, attracting numerous herds of sheep and goats. Long stretches at a gallop bring you close to the coast. There is another picnic stop along the way. Towards evening, you reach the small lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 6

You ride over a small hill and finally catch sight of the Atlantic. A fresh breeze greets you. Small sand dunes alternate with sandy tracks. Endless gallops along the Atlantic coast lead you northward. Soon you reach the mouth of the Massa River and the path down to the beach. A long gallop along the Atlantic waves marks the highlight of the day.
Arrival at the guesthouse near the beach. There is still plenty of time to take a dip in the Atlantic or simply go for a walk.

Day 7

You spend the entire morning riding along the Atlantic beach. You won’t encounter a soul here; the only sounds are the cries of birds and the roar of the ocean. In the afternoon, you reach the Souss River, home to a large bird reserve. In the evening, thousands of birds—including pink flamingos—gather here. You arrive at the stables in the evening, where you must bid farewell to your horse. Transfer back to your hotel in Agadir. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8

Departure

Breakfast and independent departure. Your guide will be happy to assist you in booking a taxi to the airport (not included in the tour price).

The accommodation

Overnight stays in simple, typical hotels and hostels. The rooms are usually naturally air-cooled and most hotels have their sun-warmed swimming pool!

During the ride, you will enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine as well as international dishes. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.

Tea—especially mint tea—is a staple of Moroccan culture.

As Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country, little to no alcohol is consumed. If you would like to have a drink during the trip, you should arrange this in advance or bring something with you from duty-free.
